Ceramics

I have taken ceramics for only 8 months but I have learned many things and have some cool creations. So far I have a Pinch Pot, 5 tiles and a mug. At the top you can click on each project to see pictures of them and learn how I made them.

Basics. This is some basic things to know about ceramics. Glaze is the color you see inside of the mug and pinch pot. Glaze is needed for it to be safe to drink out of and also adds some color. If you glaze something you need to fire it in a kiln for it to work. You could also use under glaze if you only want the color.

Another thing used in almost every ceramic creation is Slip. Slip is a wet substance that you use to get two things to stick to eachother. You can't just push them together and blend them to get it to stick you have to use slip.
